Sliding Windows

The home featured below was renovated by Small Home Repairs, LLC in 2009.

Sliding Windows aka gliding windows offer the same sleek look and energy efficiency of the casement window with one difference, these windows slide to the left and or right for ventilation. The window shown in the photo below above the garage door is known as a "Picture Slider".

The opening is configured as the traditional double hung picture window, which is typically set up as follows:
25% venting, 50% stationary in the center 25% venting, the  venting aspect of this window is vertical (side to side), instead of horizontal venting as the double hung window going up or down. They slide in to the center, and meet in the middle.

Note, the windows to left and right on the second floor of this home are casement windows. If you notice, they present a similar look to the slider window so there is uniformity.

Sliding Windows were installed on the front of this home. These windows were custom made for all three floors.
This entire home was done with energy efficient vinyl windows.
What makes this home so unique is that it features a combination of three different styles of windows throughout the home. We used all vinyl custom made to fit windows consisting of sliding picture units on the front porches a combination of casement and awning windows on the second and thrid floor.

Custom windows offer a lot of design flexibility and options for the homeowner that boxed off the rack or stock windows can not offer.

For example, the the front porch openings could have been configured with any type of windows. They could have made in two equal parts, casements or even awning windows. Sliding Windows allow in plenty of light and ventilation.

The windows on the side of this home are Awning Units. The same colonial look as a double hung. Awning windows are great for kitchens and baths.
